As my kids were growing up, they would
often participate in activities including team sports and Boy Scouts. They would collect trophies and medals through
these activities. Inevitably their awards would end up laying around in their rooms, or on their desks. As parents,
we felt a certain amount of pride watching our boys stand on the podium to collect their medals, and we realised that these
are moments to be remembered by both the parents and the kids. Custom Wood Shadow Boxes for athletes, varsity sports

Custom wood shadow box displays a field hockey stick
Above: Custom walnut shadow box for field hockey. The box contains her field hockey
stick, uniform varsity letters and personal mementos from an entire carreer.
Right: This walnut display contains as much baseball catchers gear
as I could fit into the frame. The mask and the mitt are held in place with velcro. The baseballs are autographed
by this catchers team mates.
This is a pair of display stands donated to the Kettering
Fairmont High School Wrestling team. The engraved stands feature the school emblem, and one of the Coach's motivational
slogans. The red oak stands were made for the wrestling team's anual Senior Night.
Fishing is a sport of sorts. This case was made to
hold a fishing pole and case originaly owned by the Roosevelt family and presented as a gift.
Admittedly, this is my driver. But the case was made
to hold a collection of golf items owned by or signed by professional golfer Jon Daly
12x24 Maple Shadow Box for ribbons won
at a horse show. This box includes
competition number and a framed photo.
I have done a few boxes for Horse Show Ribbons,
but this is the only one I have a picture of.

This box contains his Varsity letter and medals.
The lower part of the box contains a
certificate for academic acheivement.
24x24 Shadow boxes
are ideal for displaying Varsity Sports memorabilia. The size is big enough to put lots of items in and allows you to
spread out layout in a creative way.
The shadow boxes are also a nice compliment to scrap books as the box will hold larger, thicker objects
such as plaques, medals, jerseys and uniforms.

Both of my kids wew wrestlers,
and I have made many for the Fairmont High School Wrestling Team in Kettering, Ohio.
A Very Creative Layout
The red oak box was made for a student who graduated
from High School and College the same year!
A good example of the variety of items that fit into a
sports shadow box. Medals, photos and newspaper articles make this a unique display.
